When someone has been under considerable stress, in the end something has to give and that person feels anxious and unable to cope. It maybe that that person's life is very stressful. Through hypnotherapy that person can start look at all the things they need to do calmly, prioritise and do the things they need to do so much more efficiently.
In my experience people feel anxious when they are out of control, and that control can be regained when they feel able to calm themselves, and also to differentiate between something they can change and something they have no control over. Through Advanced hypnotherapy we can calm everything down, and help that person to be able to see everything in a way that seems so much easier to deal with. It is one of the things I love dealing with because of the good results I see.
Panic attacks often start after a period of stress; sometimes even a couple of years after the stress has gone. People often don't even link the two in their mind because it seems so detached to what is happening to them now. Panic attacks can have a devastating effect on people's lives. I have seen top executives that find themselves completely unable to travel, or give presentations. I have seen others that are just existing, staying at home and hiding themselves from the world.
Panic attacks can be stubborn to treat. Because the sub conscious mind thinks it is protecting that person by stopping them from doing whatever it is that is so frightening. We need to get to the very heart of the problem, so that the sub conscious mind is in agreement with the person getting better. Once we have done that the restrictions that have been placed on that person start to lift.
If you suffer from panic attacks I would like to offer some advice. A panic attack is extremely unpleasant and frightening. But I would like you to remember that those feelings are just sensations – the increased heart rate, the breathing, the feeling of choking, the nausea are all just sensations and won't hurt you.
Take away the fear and you are half way if not more, to getting better. Let's give an example of someone that hates lifts. When that person gets into or is waiting for a lift they start to feel sick, their breathing rate increases, they can feel their heart beating out of their chest and feel like they are choking. They are so frightened by these sensations that it magnifies them still more and they feel they have to get out of the situation. After that they feel they can't put themselves in that situation again and it becomes a fear of the fear.
If you don't run from the sensations you are feeling, you will feel awful, but also you will find that you regain control and when you regain control you are back in control of your life. In my experience you only need to suffer these sensations 2 – 3 times before they abate completely.
